This weekend, the Acadiana area will host community Mardi Gras parades and celebrations in Rayne, Sunset and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1 – Krewe of Bonaparte Mardi Gras Parade is scheduled at the intersection of Jefferson and Simcoe Streets, then along the parade route before turning into Cajun Field Mardi Gras February 21-22, 28 - March 4, 2025. They will be repositioned on Thursday, February 27, 2025, and remain in place until the final parade on Mardi Gras Day, Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Streets along and around the parade route will be closed one hour before each parade begins. Citizens should avoid these areas to minimize traffic congestion. Parade Schedule Transit Services: No transit services will run on Mardi Gras Day. Normal transit operations will resume on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Additionally, Lafayette Transit System will operate night service detours due to parades on Feb. 21, Feb. 22, Feb. 28, Mar. 1, and Mar. 3.
