The Mardi Gras pays homage to Carnival's first ship, also named the Mardi Gras. I've narrowed our choices down to Celebration and Mardi Gras based on my casino offers. I've had better experiences sailing from Canaveral (Mardi Gras) vs. Miami (Celebration) but feel like Celebration might be the better ship? I haven't sailed on anything bigger than Breeze on Carnival and am not very familiar with pros and cons of the newer Been on both multiple times - I'd take Mardi Gras for the ease of the port and we liked the new/specialty bars on MG better. Otherwise, they're basically the same ship. We generally fly down a few days early as well, we'd rather spend the time at Disney/Orlando area, as opposed to South Florida. Getting ready to book a Valentine’s Day trip for my Bf and me , and I was looking at the Celebration or Mardi Gras for our 7 day trip. This is his first cruise and my fourth (all carnival) obviously my first time on either ship but I’m leaning towards Celebration however I’m still undecided even tho they are VERY similar I think the destinations that Celebration offers is better for this The bulge area and forward all seem to have the same cabin numbers on both ships (on deck 14, at least). EDIT: The rendering of Celebration at the top of the "Explore your ship" page with deck plans etc seems to be just a copy of the Mardi Gras - it shows the same aft-of-bulge profile as Mardi Gras, which doesn't match the deck plans. The Carnival Jubilee has a total of 6 pools and 7 hot tubs. 2 of the pools are exclusive access, which means there's either an extra charge to access them or you need to book a certain class of cabin to have access to them.
