Mardi Gras is more of a party atmosphere, where people drink and party in the streets. Carnival in Brazil is more of a cultural event, where people dress up in costumes and dance in the streets. During the carnival season, Brazil is most popular place to visit. Kids were more on Celebration, but that I believe was just time frame as it was a July cruise vs a Mardi Gras late September. Maybe it's b/c of how much I've sailed Oasis class, but Mardi Gras is more exciting to me. I love the "many small venues vs a few large ones" approach. Lots of variety, really innovative design, and Carnival definitely doing some very different things. When it comes to festivals that celebrate the spirit of revelry and indulgence, two names stand out: Carnival and Mardi Gras.While both are synonymous with vibrant parades, colorful costumes, and extravagant celebrations, they have distinct origins, traditions, and cultural significance. Overall, I don't know if your experience will be much different on Mardi Gras. The layout is totally different, but it's the same kind of experience overall. It'd be different if you were talking about Carnival's older ships for booze cruises, but the Vista should provide similar levels of service, options, and class as the Mardi Gras. I saw the ship size, which is significantly smaller than the oasis class of Royal Caribbean and yet, the passenger capacity is about the same. Now my question to those, who have sailed on bo Nothing on Celebration/Mardi Gras compared to it. I see why they have Utopia going back and forth from it every 3/4 days, it's a huge draw. Not sure about the kids part of that either. Both are great, overall experience wise I'd give Wonder 8/10 and Celebration/Mardi Gras 8.5/10 We were on the Mardi Gras last January for eight days. We were on the Celebration this past December for 16 days. We are booked for the Mardi Gras for three weeks this coming September. Both ships are marvelous. The entertainment on both was the best I've ever seen on Carnival.
