The Mardi Gras has the same number of dining venues. Some of its popular venues are ChiBang, Seafood Shack, and Big Chicken. nineteen of these restaurants are complementary and the other nine have an additional fee. The Carnival Jubilee has about the same number of dining options as the Carnival Mardi Gras. Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras are the newest and biggest ships in Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet. Both Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras are in the Excel class, with Carnival Jubilee joining them in December 2023.Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras offer more fun than ever before; after all, that is part of their brand! The Excel class of ships are 40% larger than all the other Carnival’s Excel Class is home to the newest and biggest cruise ships for the cruise line. The Excel Class encompasses three ships: Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and Carnival Jubilee. However, the Excel Class extends beyond the Carnival Cruise Line brand, as it's a subset of the parent company Carnival Corporation’s Excellence Class The Celebration is named after the original Celebration that sailed with Carnival from 1987 - 2008. It has two unique zones not found on its sister ships: The Gateway, an area dedicated to travel and Carnival's history, and 820 Biscayne which has a retro-Miami vibe. The Carnival Mardi Gras has a total of 6 pools and 7 hot tubs. 2 of the pools are exclusive access, which means there's either an extra charge to access them or you need to book a certain class of cabin to have access to them. The Carnival Jubilee has the same number of pools as the Mardi Gras and the same number of hot tubs. I have been on both the Celebration and the Mardi Gras. They are basically identical minus some of the theme areas. The Mardi Gras has a New Orleans/Mardi Gras theme while the Celebration is Miami/Art Deco. The biggest difference in venues is two of the bars on deck six. They have different themes and drinks on the two ships. The Mardi Gras/Celebration/Jubilee will have more, and better, fast-casual food options (breakfast and lunch). Guy's Burgers and Shaq's Big Chicken are amazing. Dinner in the main dining room honestly never felt too different to me between the lines (both can have hits and misses depending on the night/sailing). On the other hand, the Carnival Celebration is the newest vessel from Carnival. The Carnival Jubilee, launching in December 2023, will have its own unique zones. With a range of amenities and unique ship features, both the Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras offer an enticing cruise experience. Itineraries Very similar layouts (venues have different names) to Celebration and Mardi Gras (all excel class sister ships). If you google the same cabin type for Celebration or even MG (oldest of the 3 excel ships) , you will get not only pix and video links for the other 2 ships but reviews that could help you with your question for excel class ships. Just a bit of trivia. The 1397 for Emeril's Bistro stands for the 'Yard Number' at the Meyer Turku Shipyard where the Celebration is being built. Same for the Mardi Gras Emeril's Bistro 1396. We also know that the Excel-class ship will have two themed zones unique to that ship, such as The French Quarter on Mardi Gras, 820 Biscayne on Celebration, or Currents on Jubilee, but we don’t know what they are yet. Looking to book a Cruise over Christmas next year on either the Celebration or the Jubilee. I'm leaning towards the Celebration because Miami is typically easier/cheaper to fly to from Ohio, and the cruise is a couple hundred cheaper. The itinerary is exactly the same. Sailing on these two excel-class this so After sailing on Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras, I had high expectations for Carnival Jubilee. Perhaps I set the bar too high, but I found Carnival Jubilee fell short of my expectations more than I expected. Perhaps the spring break crowd skewed my experience, but all of Carnival Jubilee’s lines, crowds, and wait times were a massive drag. The Carnival Mardi Gras was built in 2021. The Mardi Gras pays homage to Carnival's first ship, also named the Mardi Gras. It has two unique zones not found on its sister ships: The French Quarter, a New Orleans-themed area, and La Piazza, which is dedicated to the Italian heritage of Carnival cabins. The Center Stage is a beautiful venue but is terrible for seating. The production shows, since they’re new for carnival on this stage, tend to fill up fast. I would get there up to an hour early and just chat and have some drinks. I will say shows on the Jubilee seemed less popular than on the Mardi Gras or the Celebration. Emeril's on Celebration has more and nicer seating, menu is the same. I like the specialty bar menus (Latitudes and Golden Jubilee) on Celebration a tiny bit better than two of them on Mardi Gras (Brass Magnolia and Fortune Teller). Otherwise, both are great and I am booked on both next year We were on the Mardi Gras last January for eight days. We were on the Celebration this past December for 16 days. We are booked for the Mardi Gras for three weeks this coming September. Both ships are marvelous. The entertainment on both was the best I've ever seen on Carnival.
