What is a Carnival theme party? Several nights on a Carnival cruise, they host a party with a specific theme. We kick off a new ship’s career with a naming ceremony and ours are one part tradition and a lotta parts fun! Mardi Gras in New Orleans is a vibrant celebration, with each krewe presenting unique themes through elaborate parades. As we anticipate the 2025 festivities, several krewes have announced their themes, promising an exciting Carnival season. Upcoming 2025 Mardi Gras Themes. Krewe of Bacchus: Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal has been named Carnival Magic Theme Parties: The Carnival Magic's theme parties are 80's Rock N Glow, Mega Deck Party, Motown Party, and Farewell Party. 8 night cruises also include Serenity Nights party and a Silent White Party in the nightclub. This is according to a master Carnival theme party list released by John Heald in August 2024. Mardi Gras Theme The Carnival Mardi Gras sails on January 4, 2025 for a 7 Night Western Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip). The ship will depart the port of Port Canaveral, Florida at 3:00 PM and will return to the port of Port Canaveral, Florida on Jan 11th at 7:00 AM. The Mardi Gras has a construction date of 2020 and a total size of 180,800 gross tons. The ship measures 1,130 feet (344 meters) in length. Carnival Mardi Gras is included in Carnival’s XL Class.
