With a gross tonnage of 180,800 and a guest capacity ranging from 5,282 to 6,338 passengers, it offers ample space for relaxation and entertainment. Out of the 11 ships that have Cucina del Capitano, 6 offer this complimentary pasta bar for lunch. The following have the Captain’s Pasta Bar for lunch: The Captain’s Club is actually an annex to the Main Dining Room that appears on the Carnival Legend deck plans, one of Carnival’s Spirit-class ships. However, on the other Spirit-class ships, this area is named differently. On Carnival Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and Carnival Jubilee, dining at Cucina del Capitano is complimentary. On the ships that have a cover charge, during lunch, Cucina del Capitano transforms into The Captain's Pasta Bar, which is complimentary, offering guests a casual yet flavorful dining option without additional cost. If you’re picturing a sit-down dinner with the captain at your table, that’s not something Carnival offers as part of their regular programming. However, some premium cruise lines do offer a “Captain’s Table” experience. On Carnival, the closest thing would be The Chef’s Table, a private dining experience with the ship’s master chef. The Captain's Cocktail Party is the hour before the Captain's Dinner, which is the first 'elegant' night (they don't call it formal night anymore). The captain speaks and introduces some of the crew at the cocktail party which has been in the large showroom on all the cruises we've been on. Drinks are free. Cucina Del Capitano on the Mardi Gras works differently than some of Carnival's older ships as on the Mardi Gras this is considered an alternative to the main dining room. Guests on Mardi Gras can dine one complimentary time in Cucina Del Capitano and then each additional visit costs extra ($8 per person at the time of writing).
