Entertainment is comparable to other Carnival ships, though the Grand Central Atrium is a great place to catch a show. There are a lot of people onboard and it is crowded and there are bottlenecks. Make your plans accordingly to avoid peak times. I would highly recommend Mardi Gras. It's my favorite ship. Mardi Gras' center stage shows were perhaps the best shows we've ever seen in over 20 cruises. There were over 50 comedy shows during a seven day cruise in two different venues (one for family friendly and others in the punchliner), including more family friendly shows than on any other ship. Other than the comedians and piano bar, I felt like the entertainment was severely lacking and the stage shows were disappointing. Also, the lack of bars and lounges other than Alchemy and the Casino Bar after 8 or so is a deal-breaker for me. I LOVED the Mardi Gras and would do another seven days in a heartbeat and likely never get off the ship. The Mardi Gras is also over 40% bigger than the Vista Class ships and will have different food and entertainment options. We enjoyed our 2 Horizon cruises staying in the Havana area, but tastes evolve and that's why our next two Carnival cruises are on the first two Excellence Class ships.
