On June 4 th, Mardi Gras met her homeport for the first time which would be the awesome Port Canaveral, of course. So maybe you should meet it too! So maybe you should meet it too! Port Canaveral is a great place to kick off a cruise from, especially with the beautiful, brand-new cruise terminal we built specifically to be Mardi Gras’ home. First completed in June 2020, Cruise Terminal 3 (also known as CT3) at Port Canaveral is the port’s newest addition, but it may be best known as the new home of Carnival’s newest — and largest — ship, Mardi Gras. So here’s a brand-new ship with a familiar name. With this Mardi Gras ® we aren't just paying homage to our first ship — in cruising circles this name suggests innovation, signals the start of something big. Oh, and this Mardi Gras still shouts “fun!” at the top of its lungs. Carnival Mardi Gras Facts. Ship Class: The Carnival Mardi Gras is a flagship vessel, part of the innovative Excel-class cruise ships. This cutting-edge ship class is celebrated for its groundbreaking design and immersive onboard experiences, setting a new standard for cruise travel. The new Mardi Gras ship also has Carnival's signature facilities Serenity (adults-only resort), Alchemy Bar, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse. Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks. Carnival Mardi Gras main dining rooms feature select items from the onboard steakhouse, available for an additional fee. Mardi Gras also has a Lido buffet. Port Canaveral has seven cruise terminals currently in operation, each designed to accommodate various cruise lines and ship sizes: Cruise Terminal 1 (CT1) – Primarily used by Royal Caribbean International.
