My wife, two young kids and me. I sailed a lot as a kid (mostly Carnival but also RC and NCL) so on the MG I went platinum. It helped a lot with the lines for embarkation, guest services and disembarking. However, you’re right on. It’s quite crowded and the elevators are too small. The Carnival Mardi Gras Casino and Serenity Deck Pool are Standouts. Other highlights include the casino, which is by far the largest on Carnival, taking up a significant portion of Deck 7. The I’ve been on 9 carnival cruises and absolutely love them. I’ve gone all through my 20’s and in my early 30’s. Always a great time. I would recommend making sure you go on the Mardi Gras or the Celebration as they’re the newer ships and are a ton of fun! I’ve been on royal, holland America, MSC, and virgin.
