The Mardi Gras has the same number of dining venues. Some of its popular venues are Street Eats, Bonsai Sushi, and Piazza Panini. nineteen of these restaurants are complementary and the other nine have an additional fee. The Carnival Celebration has about the same number of dining options as the Carnival Mardi Gras. Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras are the newest and biggest ships in Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet. Both Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras are in the Excel class, with Carnival Jubilee joining them in December 2023.Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras offer more fun than ever before; after all, that is part of their brand! The Excel class of ships are 40% larger than all the other I have been on both the Celebration and the Mardi Gras. They are basically identical minus some of the theme areas. They have different themes and drinks on the two ships. I've narrowed our choices down to Celebration and Mardi Gras based on my casino offers. I've had better experiences sailing from Canaveral (Mardi Gras) vs. Miami (Celebration) but feel like Celebration might be the better ship? This is his first cruise and my fourth (all carnival) obviously my first time on either ship but I’m leaning towards Celebration however I’m still undecided even tho they are VERY similar I think the destinations that Celebration offers is better for this Carnival Celebration is the newest vessel from Carnival, while Mardi Gras showcases New Orleans culture and offers unique features like the BOLT rollercoaster and new dining options. Both ships offer a variety of accommodation options, including interior, ocean view, balcony, and suite cabins, as well as special options like Excel Suites Emeril's on Celebration has more and nicer seating, menu is the same. I like the specialty bar menus (Latitudes and Golden Jubilee) on Celebration a tiny bit better than two of them on Mardi Gras (Brass Magnolia and Fortune Teller). Just a bit of trivia. The 1397 for Emeril's Bistro stands for the 'Yard Number' at the Meyer Turku Shipyard where the Celebration is being built. Same for the Mardi Gras Emeril's Bistro 1396.
