Mardi Gras delivers close to Princess and Norwegian cruise line experiences. First time in an Interior Cabin and surprisingly it was great. Very quiet and good sleeping - Deck 15. Our Steward was excellent as was I had been wanting to cruise on the Mardi Gras, so third time was a charm and we did it! There were 8 of us - we were the old fogies and along with us were 3 of our kids, who are in their 20's Conclusion- yes the Mardi Gras is a huge ship, really never felt over crowded despite all the people on it. Room design/setup is horrible, reverse couch and bed and would be great. Food as a whole was much improved and plenty to be had even at 12 a.m. and who doesn't like free soft serve ice cream and cookies for late night snack. We booked the Mardi Gras due to being a new ship and that it went out of Port Canaveral. My son lives in Orlando so it was an easy decision to make. I am platinum on CCL and Diamond on RCCL. I will compare the perks in a later post. Embarkation Being platinum we were allowed to check in earlier to get an early time to embark.
