The first cruise ship in the Americas powered by environmentally-friendly liquefied natural gas (LNG) refueled for the first time at Port Canaveral. Carnival Cruise Line's newest ship, Mardi Gras Carnival Cruise's Mardi Gras ship, set to begin sailing from Port Canaveral, will be the first cruise ship in America to be powered by liquid natural gas. Note that these engines cannot run on straight LNG, since LNG has too high an auto-ignition temperature, and requires spark ignition which marine diesels don't have.
