Coming in at 1,130 feet long and 137 feet wide, it's roughly the length of 3.1 football fields, as wide as 2.6 tractor-trailers and the same height as a 17-story building. Compared to the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas, the Mardi Gras is 7% larger in terms of overall tons. Yes, I have found comparisons about ship size, passenger load and the like. I am looking for people's actual experiences onboard I guess. From what I have read I would expect Mardi Gras to be competitive with Anthem in the overall experience, but of course each ship has her differences. Mardi Gras has Bolt, Anthem has bumper cars, etc. Anthem of the Seas - 4.1429; Mardi Gras - 4.1349; or as lazy as you want!” shared member ficcenter in their review of Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Carnival Mardi Gras Beam (Maximum): 138 feet. Carnival Mardi Gras Passenger Capacity (Double/Max): 5,282/6,631. Anthem of the Seas Passenger Capacity (Double/Max): 4,180/4,905. 30. Royal I did like the glass door shower compared to the previous curtain on older Carnival ships, but the bathroom was very narrow on Mardi Gras. Crowds: I think crowd management was better on Oasis vs Mardi Gras. It seemed like every spot of open deck space on Mardi Gras had a bar in it, which limited space and made it difficult to relax. The Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas has 4 more bars than the Carnival Mardi Gras. The Harmony of the Seas has 20 bars like Mast Bar, Rising Tide Bar and Trellis Bar. On Harmony of the Seas, you can grab a drink at 16 different bars such as Center Stage, Guy's Pig and Anchor Brewhouse and Tides Pool Bar. On the flip side, Carnival Mardi Gras is the second largest vessel in Carnival’s fleet, only coming in second to sister-ship Carnival Celebration. In comparison, Mardi Gras is smaller than Harmony of the Seas, weighing 180,000 gross tons and holding 5,500 passengers at full capacity. One thing I dislike about Wonder of the Seas and other oasis class ships are you really feel separated from the ocean. It can feel a little bit more like a hotel or a mall than a cruise ship sometimes. The Mardi Gras does a much better job of having spots that highlight the water with the lower promenade and other venues. Nothing on Celebration/Mardi Gras compared to it. I see why they have Utopia going back and forth from it every 3/4 days, it's a huge draw. Not sure about the kids part of that either. Both are great, overall experience wise I'd give Wonder 8/10 and Celebration/Mardi Gras 8.5/10 The Carnival Mardi Gras has 4 fewer bars than the Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas. RC is great at including a lot of experiences and activities for free, or at least free on port days.
