The Mardi Gras has the same number of dining venues. Some of its popular venues are ChiBang, Seafood Shack, and Big Chicken. nineteen of these restaurants are complementary and the other nine have an additional fee. The Carnival Jubilee has about the same number of dining options as the Carnival Mardi Gras. The Carnival Mardi Gras has a total of 6 pools and 7 hot tubs. 2 of the pools are exclusive access, which means there's either an extra charge to access them or you need to book a certain class of cabin to have access to them. The Carnival Jubilee has the same number of pools as the Mardi Gras and the same number of hot tubs. Carnival Jubilee, Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras are the ships with the best collection of water slides, including Blue Lightning (312 feet), Orange Thunder (229 feet) and Carnival Twister (265 feet). The best individual waterslide is Kaleid-O-Slide (445 feet) on Carnival Panorama. All of Carnival’s Excel Class ships are reused names from older Carnival ships, paying homage to Carnival’s longtime history. Mardi Gras was Carnival’s first cruise ship, which set sail in 1972. Similarly, the original Carnival Celebration was built in 1987, whereas the MS Jubilee first sailed in 1986. Carnival Jubilee After sailing on Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras, I had high expectations for Carnival Jubilee. Perhaps I set the bar too high, but I found Carnival Jubilee fell short of my expectations more than I expected. Perhaps the spring break crowd skewed my experience, but all of Carnival Jubilee’s lines, crowds, and wait times were a massive drag. Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras are the newest and biggest ships in Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet. Both Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras are in the Excel class, with Carnival Jubilee joining them in December 2023.Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras offer more fun than ever before; after all, that is part of their brand! The Excel class of ships are 40% larger than all the other The Carnival Jubilee is a fairly new ship, being built in 2023. The Jubilee is Carnival's newest ship. It's named after the original Jubilee that sailed with Carnival from 1986 - 2004. It has two unique zones not found on its sister ships, The Shores, a beach-themed area, and Currents which explores the depths of the ocean. The Mardi Gras/Celebration/Jubilee will have more, and better, fast-casual food options (breakfast and lunch). Guy's Burgers and Shaq's Big Chicken are amazing. Dinner in the main dining room honestly never felt too different to me between the lines (both can have hits and misses depending on the night/sailing). Let's Compare Carnival newest biggest ships, Mardi Gras, Celebration & Jubilee and see what's inside and what you can expect to see on board these amazing sh You'll have Jubilee as an option out of Galveston too in 2024, which in theory, will be Carnival's newest ship at that point - same class as Mardi Gras and Celebration and could have some new restaurants or features on board I have been on both the Celebration and the Mardi Gras. They are basically identical minus some of the theme areas. The Mardi Gras has a New Orleans/Mardi Gras theme while the Celebration is Miami/Art Deco. The biggest difference in venues is two of the bars on deck six. They have different themes and drinks on the two ships. I've cruised both ships plus the two newer Carnival LNG ships, Celebration and Jubilee, and several other Carnival ships. Both ships are nice although the Mardi Gras being a good bit larger has more entertainment, more bars, more food options, and larger crowds. I would consider the features of both ships as one point of consideration. MEET THE CEREMONY. We kick off a new ship’s career with a naming ceremony and ours are one part tradition and a lotta parts fun! On the tradition end, we get dignitaries like Mardi Gras' godmother, Miss Dominican Republic Kimberly Jiménez, and our own Chief Fun Officer Shaq to help make sure the champagne bottle gets broken just right for good luck. The Venezia is part of Carnival's "Fun Italian Style" Program. This ship is on loan from sister company Costa cruises. It's similar to Carnival's Vista-class ships, but it has a distinct Italian style. It's 2 years older than the Mardi Gras, which was built in 2021. The Mardi Gras pays homage to Carnival's first ship, also named the Mardi Gras. It has two unique zones not found on its sister ships: The Gateway, an area dedicated to travel and Carnival's history, and 820 Biscayne which has a retro-Miami vibe. It's 1 year newer than the Mardi Gras, which was built in 2021. The Mardi Gras pays homage to Carnival's first ship, also named the Mardi Gras. The French Quarter on the Carnival Mardi Gras. The new ship with have it’s own themed zone. We also know that the Excel-class ship will have two themed zones unique to that ship, such as The French Quarter on Mardi Gras, 820 Biscayne on Celebration, or Currents on Jubilee, but we don’t know what they are yet. When it comes to festivals that celebrate the spirit of revelry and indulgence, two names stand out: Carnival and Mardi Gras.While both are synonymous with vibrant parades, colorful costumes, and extravagant celebrations, they have distinct origins, traditions, and cultural significance. It just so happened that booking a balcony cabin on Carnival Jubilee was cheaper than sailing on the 3-year-old Mardi Gras. Let’s take a look at how these two balcony cabins compare on Carnival’s newest and largest cruise ships, including why I wouldn’t hesitate to book the cheaper cabin again. These staterooms and suites are available on Carnival Breeze, Carnival Celebration, Carnival Dream, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Jubilee, Carnival Luminosa, Carnival Magic, Mardi Gras., Carnival Panorama, Carnival Radiance, Carnival Splendor, Carnival Sunrise, Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Vista. Cloud 9 stateroom options: The Center Stage is a beautiful venue but is terrible for seating. The production shows, since they’re new for carnival on this stage, tend to fill up fast. I would get there up to an hour early and just chat and have some drinks. I will say shows on the Jubilee seemed less popular than on the Mardi Gras or the Celebration.
