The Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas has 4 more bars than the Carnival Mardi Gras. The Harmony of the Seas has 20 bars like Mast Bar, Rising Tide Bar and Trellis Bar. On Harmony of the Seas, you can grab a drink at 16 different bars such as Center Stage, Guy's Pig and Anchor Brewhouse and Tides Pool Bar. The Carnival Mardi Gras has a total of 6 pools and 7 hot tubs. 2 of the pools are exclusive access, which means there's either an extra charge to access them or you need to book a certain class of cabin to have access to them. Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas has fewer pools than the Mardi Gras and more hot tubs. On the flip side, Carnival Mardi Gras is the second largest vessel in Carnival’s fleet, only coming in second to sister-ship Carnival Celebration. In comparison, Mardi Gras is smaller than Harmony of the Seas, weighing 180,000 gross tons and holding 5,500 passengers at full capacity. I’m trying to decide which to book : The Carnival’s Mardi Gras or Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the seas. I love the thought of a new ship with the new roller coaster. But with carnival I’m finding a lot of the entertainment is the same. I will sail on my first Royal Caribbean cruise in September We compare Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas and the Carnival Mardi Gras! Find out who we picked as the overall winner of this battle! We go over ship lay We just got off the Mardi Gras.. first time sailing carnival in 10 years because we prefer rc. Mardi Gras is a beautiful ship and does pack in a lot of fun but we found two main differences.. royal Caribbean room size is far superior.. we booked an ocean suite for mg and it was almost half the width of rc suites. Nothing on Celebration/Mardi Gras compared to it. I see why they have Utopia going back and forth from it every 3/4 days, it's a huge draw. Not sure about the kids part of that either. Both are great, overall experience wise I'd give Wonder 8/10 and Celebration/Mardi Gras 8.5/10 There's a lot more to do on Harmony but Mardi Gras isn't bad and is a fun ship. I also like that Mardi has several specialty dining places included so you can eat there for lunch/dinner and not pay whereas you would pay for similar venues on Harmony (though they have a lot of free options too). FYI Royal uses dynamic pricing and Carnival doesn't. The rooms on mardi gras are definitely smaller, but I kinda liked the bathroom. Or at least the shower seemed big for an interior cruise room. I will add that the shows on harmony will blow away anything on mardi gras - so if you're a show person you will be disappointed on mardi gras. Also you can't make reservations for comedy on carnival Two cruise ship legends go head-to-head! 🚢 The Carnival Mardi Gras and the Harmony of the Seas face unimaginable challenges, from towering waves to massive The Carnival Mardi Gras has 4 fewer bars than the Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas. It has two unique zones not found on its sister ships: The French Quarter, a New Orleans-themed area, and La Piazza, which is dedicated to the Italian heritage of Carnival cabins. I think a lot of Carnival vs RC comparisons are a bit unfair in that they're often comparing extra-cost options on Carnival vs complimentary options on RC. RC is great at including a lot of experiences and activities for free, or at least free on port days. I'd suggest you look at some of the reviews and comparisons people have made in this sub between RC's Oasis-class and Carnival's Celebration or Mardi Gras. There are also countless YouTube vlogs to give you a better look at people's experiences. I give Carnival a lot more credit for having a better variety of complimentary food options.
