The Norwegian Escape has a total of 4 pools and 10 hot tubs. 1 of the pools and 4 of the hot tubs are exclusive access, which means there's either an extra charge to access them or you need to book a certain class of cabin to have access to them. Carnival Mardi Gras has more pools than the Escape and fewer hot tubs. I love Carnival's new Mardi Gras class ships but I gotta say I have a better time on NCL. Just a better party for my demographic. The unlimited drink package helps. lol. Carnival wins on fast casual food but NCL had better restaurants, better buffet, and late night dining. I don't care for the older Carnival ships. Even Mardi Gras is only 600 / 900 for a balcony in October on a seven day cruise, that's just absolutely insane for a brand new ship. They are basically identical minus some of the theme areas. The Mardi Gras has a New Orleans/Mardi Gras theme while the Celebration is Miami/Art Deco. The biggest difference in venues is two of the bars on deck six. They have different themes and drinks on the two ships. Last month, I set sail on Carnival Mardi Gras, which is one of Carnival Cruise Line's newest cruise ships. Launched in 2021, this cruise ship was the flagship vessel for Carnival’s new Excel-class of cruise ships. In my opinion, this shift towards modernizing their fleet was revolutionary for Carnival Cruise Line.
