On Wonder of the Seas, you can grab a drink at 16 different bars such as Fahrenheit 555 Bar, Guy's Pig and Anchor Brewhouse and Piano Bar 88. based on some recent vids I've watched, Royal's MDR looks superior to Carnival's. Royal's Windjammer is far superior to Carnival's lido. Carnival has added some good aerial type shows in the center-stage--but the negative is that good seating is limited. I'm not really into comedians, but I guess Carnival is better for that. Join us as we compare Carnival's Mardi Gras to Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas. My understanding is that carnival celebration and mardi gras are very similar and RC wonder and harmony are also in the same class. RC is around 20 percent more expensive for our dates. However, right now with whatever sales are going on, a balcony room on the Mardi Gras would be cheaper, than an interior room on Wonder of the Seas. Both ships are Royal Caribbean’s and Carnival’s newest ships so both will be expensive. The Wonder Of The Seas is currently the largest cruise passenger ship in the world. Be ready for crowds on both ships. If your younger and like a lot of action I would pick the Mardi Gras. It’s no surprise that Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line are two of the most popular cruise lines in the world. This is especially true in comparison of each cruise line’s biggest and most modern cruise ships. After sailing on both, Carnival Mardi Gras and Harmony of the Seas showcase the best-of-the-best from each cruise line. When it comes to size, Royal Caribbean ships definitely have an edge. I've sailed all the Oasis class, and visited Mardi Gras twice (but haven't sailed her yet). Maybe it's b/c of how much I've sailed Oasis class, but Mardi Gras is more exciting to me. I love the "many small venues vs a few large ones" approach. Lots of variety, really innovative design, and Carnival definitely doing some very different things. How does the Royal Caribbean Utopia of the Seas compare to the Carnival Mardi Gras? The Utopia of the Seas was built in 2024. It is 3 years newer than the Mardi Gras, which was built in 2021. See all the differences in terms of size, facilities, and dining options. The Carnival Mardi Gras has a total of 6 pools and 7 hot tubs. 2 of the pools are exclusive access, which means there's either an extra charge to access them or you need to book a certain class of cabin to have access to them. Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas has fewer pools than the Mardi Gras and fewer hot tubs. The Carnival Mardi Gras has 3 more bars than the Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas. The Mardi Gras has 16 bars like Piano Bar 88, Punchliner Comedy Club and The Brass Magnolia. On Mardi Gras, you can grab a drink at 13 different bars such as Boleros, Solarium Bar and Star Lounge. The Carnival Mardi Gras has 5 fewer bars than the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas. The Mardi Gras has 16 bars like Havana Bar, Punchliner Comedy Club and RedFrog Tiki Bar. Mardi Gras definitely has the better itinerary, but I would personally pick the Oasis over the Mardi Gras in terms of the ship itself. As a disclaimer, I've only been on one of the Oasis' sister ships, the Symphony of the Seas, and haven't been on the new Carnival ships.
