Not that long ago, internet on a cruise was largely a luxury. While someone might buy access to be able to work remotely from the ship or buy a few minutes to check email, broad access by many people on the ship wasn't common. What a difference a few years can make. Now, having wi-fi access is nearly a necessity. The good news is that cruise lines -- including Carnival -- offer wi-fi access We are booked for Carnival Celebration's first cruise out of Miami, looking to purchase the Internet Plan. How's the Internet Speed on Carnival Mardi Gras? Is it worth getting the premium plan, are speeds that fast? If anyone that has been on Mardi Gras can confirm would greatly appreciate it. Members Online Family’s $15K Carnival Cruise vacation canceled just 2 days prior, without their knowledge, after sharing booking number on Facebook Ever since I've bought the premium wifi because I have to work sometimes onboard. The internet has never been great. Oddly prevents my payroll site from loading on my phone, but not on my desktop, and there are definitely parts of the ships (including our room) that haven't been able to have great connections. Carnival Premium Wifi is simply GARBAGE! The speed at which it operates on sea days or when the ship is full, is pathetic. I get miserable every time I cruise Carnival because I have the same problem on all Carnival ships. I have to say that Royal Caribbean has a much better internet system with much better connectivity. How do I join Carnival Wi-fi? To gain access to Wi-Fi once on the Ship is very easy. Go into our laptop of personal devices wi-fi settings and you will see a list of available wi-fi networks. The wi-fi network to connect to will be quite obvious and is usually called “Carnival Vista Wi-Fi”. “Carnival Vista Wifi” or “Carnival Guest Wi I'd really hoped CCL would improve connectivity on Mardi Gras, but that didn't happen. In some places they connect to nearby land-based stations and have good speeds, but otherwise it seems rough. Some ships on some lines do this well, and as someone who works from ships, I wish the rest would step up their game. Carnival Mardi Gras Review. 5.0 / 5.0. Editor Rating. 218 reviews. The Carnival FunHub app is needed to see daily activities and to request tables in restaurants. Very easy to use. Both the ships were smaller relative to the Mardi Gras. The included food options available on Mardi Gras were above and beyond what we expected. The bigger the ship though, the more people. There are trade offs. Carnival is more about activities and having fun than being a quiet ship. There are areas that are adult only that help mitigate if Conclusion- yes the Mardi Gras is a huge ship, really never felt over crowded despite all the people on it. Room design/setup is horrible, reverse couch and bed and would be great. Food as a whole was much improved and plenty to be had even at 12 a.m. and who doesn't like free soft serve ice cream and cookies for late night snack. My questions is if anyone has any insight to the wi-fi speeds for the following ships: Panorama, Valor and Spirit. I would like to take up on Carnival's recent offers, but am hesitant to book anything if the wi-fi is unusable. I need decent wi-fi for work purposes to be able to send/receive emails, download excel files, and have zoom calls.
