Interestingly enough, smart elevators have not been introduced aboard the fleet’s newest ships, the Excel-class vessels – Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and the newly christened Carnival We used the smart elevators on Horizon - once we got how they worked, it was great. Definately shorter waits most of the time, just once in a while when meals begin, shows begin/end, when there is congestion anyway, the smart part did not make a difference. Looking forward to seeing how they work on MArdiGras! Welljust to be on MArdi Gras!! At this time, Carnival does not have any smart elevators on any of their ships. For the first time, a ship built specifically for North America markets will be available. Elevators that are programmed not to stop on decks have cabins that have still not been cleaned. Let's be clear: This isn't the Carnival Mardi Gras, the ship that launched Carnival Cruise Line in 1972, The elevators, no longer "smart" as on the Vista class, gained glass doors and are fast There’s nothing inherently wrong with smart elevator systems, large skyrises in major cities use them all the time, but Carnival’s implementation was severely lacking previously. Seeing that the Mardi Gras can hold up to 30% more passengers than the Horizon, I sincerely hope they worked out a better system. #cruisevlog #carnivalcruise #carnivalmardigrasEven though it's not glamorous or worthy of marketing material, one of the most important cruise ship design el I loved the elevators on the Panorama. It was great to have people spread out depending on the floor they chose. It prevented everyone waiting to get on an elevator from going to one elevator. We recently cruised on the Mardi Gras and they have the old style elevators. It was so much worse. There are three elevator banks on board. The aft set has 6 elevators, while the middle and forward banks each have 8. The middle set can be very busy at times and the aft set is usually the best, even though it has two less elevators. Know this from sailing on the Excel Class ships for 61 days between the MG and the Celebration. Im going on Mardi Gras next February. Really looking forward to it. When we sailed on Mariner of the Seas at the start of the month, Mardi Gras was leaving Port Canaveral at the same time. Everyone in our group was jealous, though mostly because of the roller coaster. The roller coast looks cool, but im not excited about spending $15/ride. It looks like I come across something new every time I look at the Mardi Gras deck plans. Very handy that there's a Spa Elevator that goes direct from deck 17 to deck 5 (Spa). Even more reason to see what the spa has to offer - since they're making it so convenient ! OK, I might just go ahead and A short video about getting on & off an Elevator on the Carnival Mardi Gras with a Mobility ScooterPLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL: Has anyone read/seen anything about if the Mardi Gras will have the smart elevators? I did a search and didn't come up with anything. We've never used one, but being that my wife uses a walker or scooter, just trying to get a sense of what to expect when we board. For budget-conscious cruisers or those not concerned with views, Interior Cabins on the Carnival Mardi Gras offer a comfortable and cost-effective option. Although these cabins do not have windows, they are well-designed to maximize space and ensure a pleasant stay. Key features of Interior Cabins include: Comfortable beds; Convenient storage Found out on day 5 about this elevator. You must have a spa cabin for access. How are the elevator wait times on the Carnival Mardi Gras ship?? My room is on deck 4 in the family harbour lounge, I like taking the stairs (all family members are very capable)but this ship might be too big for me to use them everytime! We want to experience the family harbour lounge area but maybe we should try and get a room up higher do they have smart elevators or regular ones ???? The ship does have a main theater like most ships but sadly nothing really took place in it and never saw it, seems to be a huge waste of ships space and I think the main shows would have been more enjoyable to be seen in it. CT3 Location at Port Canaveral Map data: Google, Landsat/Copernicus, Maxar Technologies, U.S. Geological Survey. Port Canaveral is among the busiest cruise departure ports in the world, but thanks to its size and location, it can feel much smaller — and much easier — to navigate on cruise day.
