Mobile County Public Schools announced people have an opportunity to get a voucher for one dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts when you donate a "bagful" of Mardi Gras beads to Evans Special School on LIEUTENANT LORENZO MATTHEWS from Mobile Police Department · 7 Feb 24. Good day community! I hope all is well with you and your families. As you continue enjoy the festivities of Carnival (Mardi Gras) make sure to hold on to all those beads that you catch. You can donate them to the School of Deaf and Blind, and Augusta Evans Special School. Augusta Evans Special School partners with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for the school's annual Mardi Gras bead donation drive. Students sort and package the beads and sell them to the public. Donation dates are March 18-19 at the school at 6301 Biloxi Avenue. Donate 12 pounds of beads (about a bagful) and get a coupon for a dozen doughnuts! Similar in purpose, the Arc of Acadiana also hosts an annual bead drive to collect used Mardi Gras beads to re-stock inventory, which are then sold at our 6 resale stores and 3 day program Donate your Mardi Gras beads to the bead program at Augusta Evans Special School!
