Main Dining Rooms: Palm & Flamingo Restaurants. At the heart of the Mardi Gras dining experience are the Palm and Flamingo Restaurants, offering a sophisticated atmosphere for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. These main dining rooms share the same rotating menus. Port Day Breakfast: Palm Restaurant 7:00-9:00am. Sea Day Brunch: Palm Restaurant 8 Mardi Gras Casino -Deck 7 (52 pictures in photo gallery.) There are two styles of dining on Mardi Gras -- traditional, with set times at the spacious two-story Palm restaurant -- and Your Time Dining in the much smaller Flamingo dining room. If you have my time dining, you will be seated in The Flamingo dining room at whatever time you decide to go to dinner. I did think the main dining room was a bit prettier, but they were essentially the exact same thing. Carnival Cruise Line's new ship, Mardi Gras, is absolutely chock-full of dining venues, many included and some with an up-charge. Guests on Mardi Gras can dine one complimentary time in Cucina Del Capitano and then each additional visit costs extra ($8 per person at the time of writing). We sailed on Mardi Gras last week with YTD - and for the first time ever we never once went to the main dining rooms. Did Cucina four nights and Chibang three nights. The menus were extensive enough to avoid repetition, and both include a menu page of traditional stuff from the main dining room (albeit the same offerings every night - grilled The Flamingo Restaurant on a Carnival cruise ship offers guests a lively and delicious dining experience. With a rotating menu featuring favorites like steak, roasted duck, scallops, and prime rib, guests can enjoy a full three-course meal included in their fare. Carnival Mardi Gras dining provides cruisers with a mouthwatering blend of exciting new dining options and perennial cruise line favorites. Passengers can taste authentic bayou flavors at Emeril’s Bistro 1396, Emeril Lagasse’s first-ever restaurant at sea, or enjoy a tableside performance at Bonsai Teppanyaki. On Mardi Gras last year, the dining room opened 30 minutes earlier (5:00) on the first elegant night than the other six nights. Also, on Mardi Gras with YTD you have the option to dine in the dining room, Cucina del Capitano, Chibang, and Pig and Anchor. For Pig and Anchor you just show up, but you check in on the app for the others. Both of these venues provide a lovely ambiance in which to enjoy your meals, along with attentive service. Because we were anytime dining and didn’t have a set dining time in the main dining room we got moved to the Flamingo dining room. Which was fine however, Ca On Mardi Gras dinner doesn’t mean the day’s over, but it does give folks a chance to get together and share the fun they’ve had.
