Hosted by the Helen Chamber of Commerce, this lively German Mardi Gras party offers a unique and festive experience in the heart of Georgia’s charming alpine village. What to expect: Around the world, Carnival and Mardi Gras celebrations 💜💛💚 are known as some of the most festive events of the year. In Alpine Helen, Georgia, this pre-Lent season is known as Fasching and brings weeks of fun celebrations, costume contests, parties, and a parade! Fasching (German Mardi Gras) is traditionally the eve of the beginning of the fast (Lent) People tend to use the last days before periods of fasting to enjoy life to the fullest. In Helen, Fasching is done to laugh at Old Man Winter with a mid winter celebration. Plentiful hors oeuvres are included in the admission charge. Fasching German Mardi Gras Festival is happening on Saturday, Feb 15, 2025 from 6:00pm to 11:00pm at the venue Helen Festhalle in Helen, GA Celebrate Mardi Gras "Bavarian-Style", also known as "Winter Karnival" in Germany.
