A beautiful native flower, Helenium or sneezeweed, is found in wet meadows and along sunny pond edges. It seamlessly transitions to humus-rich soil in borders, where its bright flowers enliven midsummer and fall gardens and pair beautifully with grasses. Flowering profusely in a riot of cheerful colors, Helenium 'Mardi Gras' features masses of attractive yellow blossoms, 2 in. wide (5 cm), lavishly splashed with orange red with deep brown, mounded center cones.
