The main event takes place on Mardi Gras Day, which is the last day of the Carnival season. Mardi Gras is known for its colorful parades, costumes, and parties. There are several differences between Mardi Gras and other festivals. For one, Mardi Gras is a religious holiday, while most festivals are not. Additionally, Mardi Gras is typically The children celebrate the world we have given them. (As we celebrated the world our sires gave to us.) Day of the Dead then, designated on November 2, is simply our opportunity to commune with the Spirits when the ethereal atmosphere is at its thinnest. Many people assume that New Orleans is the birthplace of Mardi Gras. However, many Fèt Gede is the Haitian Day of the Dead, and the NOLA version of the holiday mixes the Haitian Vodou religion, Mexican American traditions, and the French celebration of All Soul’s Day.
