Krewes seeking new members include the Mystick Knights of Adonis, the Krewe of Argus, the Krewe of Excalibur, the Krewe of Isis, and the Krewe of Pandora. You’ll find membership info on each of their sites. The Endymion Krewe is a Mardi Gras parade organization in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is one of the oldest and most famous krewes in the city, and membership offers you a chance to join an organization that has been a part of Mardi Gras for over half a century. The parade begins at 28th Street and Market Street downtown, then heads south down 28th Street, then turns right down Postoffice Street, continuing toward the Strand historic district. Galveston Parade Krewes are social organizations and therefore as many people have said, finding friends who are in a Krewe you want to join is helpful to knowing that both you and the Krewe are the right fit. Use the internet to find if their membership rolls and balls are open to the public. If a woman is invited to join, they’ll need to attend three practices per month from June through December, and then one rehearsal a week from January through the end of Mardi Gras. Membership dues are $200 for the year but don’t include costumes, and members volunteer for at least three of the public charity events the krewe chooses each I initially decided to join the Krewe of Cleopatra because one of my clients suggested that it would be a great way for me to network. This particular client owns a Mardi Gras supply store, so he should know a good time when he sees one. It sounded like fun, so I decided to give it a go.
