This family-friendly parade is one of the most meaningful events of Galveston’s Carnival season. Hundreds of Sunshine Kids and Shiners children, along with their families, join together to raise awareness for important causes while celebrating the Mardi Gras spirit. Pets and their humans are encouraged to wear their Mardi Gras finest. A costume contest is planned prior to the start of the parade from 12:15—1:00. The 31st annual Mardi Gras Festival and Parade in the Kingwood area is a family-friendly, free event taking place at 8 Mardi Gras Southeast Texas in Beaumont.
