Just remember that you have plenty of time to visit because Mardi Gras 2025 will not take place until March 4th of next year. So, whether you’re a Mardi Gras newbie or a seasoned carnival-goer, Mardi Gras World offers a unique peek behind the curtain of one of the world’s most famous parties. Just be warned – you might leave with an irresistible urge to book your next trip to New Orleans during carnival season! The date of Mardi Gras varies from year to year because it's based on the Easter lunar calendar. But the term "Mardi Gras" is also used by both locals and visitors to refer to the last 12 days of Carnival, during which there are many parades of large floats. As for Mardi Gras World, seeing the floats being made is actually pretty interesting. Last time we went was several years ago, when we had relatives visiting, and getting to see the float builders and artists working was great. Some parts of Mardi Gras world are silly, but if the builders/artists are there, it is nice to see them in action. Given that Mardi Gras is the culmination of a month-long party, any skillful local will avoid drinking the whole keg in a single night. Definitely worth the Tourist or Local, Mardi Gras World is worth a visit while in the Big Easy. Practically all floats are stored in this massive warehouse. This location is where creativity happens. The design team/artists do all the work within these confines and while on tour we got a chance to see them in action. Our tour was under an hour in length. First time visiting Mardi Gras World and I thought it was great! I had read online that tours were self-guided right now but when we showed up they were just about to start a guided one. Got to start with a little educational video and a slice of King Cake and then they took us into the warehouse. If you’re visiting Disney World or staying at the Port Orleans Resorts next week, you might like to check out the parade.
