The Mardi Gras Coronation was followed by festivities attended by officials from the City of El Centro, Los Vigilantes, Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, and guests. Algiers Mardi Gras Parade and Festival. The Algiers Mardi Gras Parade and Festival will be back on Saturday, February 1 at New Orleans Federal City in Algiers. Entertainment will include Brass-A-Holics, Amanda Shaw, The U.S. Marine Reserve Jazz Band and more. The parade starts at 9 a.m. and the Festival begins at 10 a.m. This event will kick off the festivities in honor of King Edward and Queen Martha’s achievements. The annual Mardi Gras Parade and Street Fair will follow on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the downtown area, where the community will gather to celebrate the season and honor the couple’s remarkable contributions. The Krewe of ALLA will crown its first Black king and queen in time for Carnival 2025, the captain of the 92-year-old krewe told members of a Council committee on Wednesday.
