Wander through displays of elaborately themed costumes and memorabilia at Krewe of Gemini Mardi Gras Museum. See the colorful parade floats featured during northwest Louisiana’s Mardi Gras. The Museum highlights over a decade of Mardi Gras in North Louisiana and is considered a work in progress. Displays are updated and added on a continual basis. This event enables the public to come out and get an up-close look at the floats before they roll in the big parade. 💚 Over in Shreveport the Krewe of Highland held their grand ball in a unique venue, the Red River District. The Krewe of Gemini Mardi Gras Museum is home to the largest collection of Mardi Gras Royalty Costumes in the Northern Hemisphere, and second largest in the world. I am not partial to this museum because I belong to the Krewe that started it but because it is definitely the best place to see and experience Mardi Gras in Northwest Louisiana. The parade will then head west to Hope Street, then east on Milam, make a left on Edwards, turn onto Texas and go through downtown Shreveport.
