When Carnival Cruise Line introduced Mardi Gras, it rolled out several new stateroom categories, including the Excel Suites. Similarly, a standard interior on Mardi Gras only measures 158 square feet, while a balcony is 249 square feet, and a Carnival Excel Suite is a whopping 615 square feet. If you want to stay in the largest stateroom in the fleet, look at Excel Class ships (Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and Carnival Jubilee). CARNIVAL EXCEL CORNER SUITE. A Carnival Excel Corner Suite aboard Mardi Gras features tons of indoor space, plus a large wraparound balcony with lounge chairs and an al fresco dining table, for when you need a little more space. Back inside this impressive room, you’ll find a king-size bed, a deluxe bathroom, plus a living room featuring a (Ocean Suite balcony on Mardi Gras) The interior cabins on Carnival’s Excel-Class ships might be compact, but the staterooms are thoughtfully designed. The small space is well utilized, although you won’t have anywhere to sit other than your bed. The interior cabin had plenty of storage, along with a large vanity. It looks like the aft balconies on deck 9 and 10 have a clear view of whatever is going on on deck 8? Is that true?
