Since its inception in 1993, the event has been a staple in downtown Port Arthur and Beaumont. This year, the festivities have moved to Doggett Ford Park, where the three-day event is set to begin. Mardi Gras Southeast Texas, which is going on its thirty-third year, is the premier event of the Carnaval season in Southeast Texas! A colorful celebration of tradition and pageantry that emphasizes community, family and quality of life activities for 3 full days on Feb. 28, March 1, 2, 2025. The Krewe of Service organizes volunteers who donate time and skills to staff Mardi Gras Southeast Texas. In order to volunteer, please select the position and shift you wish to volunteer for through the link below. Volunteer shifts are fast paced and requires volunteers to be standing the entire four hour shift. Texas has a parade, concert, festival and other fun events for you! This magnificent, costumed, beaded and feathered carnival is rich with tradition and is all about having a good time! It was nearly 24 years ago when a small group of friends created Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas. After years of planning and collaboration with dozens of nonprofit organizations, their inaugural Mardi Gras was held in Port Arthur in February of 1993. Some 26 years later, organizers found a new home for Mardi Gras Southeast Texas – downtown
