The only criteria I've gotten from the bachelor are: 1) the obligatory visit to a gentleman's club (not really my scene, but I'm not the bachelor), and 2) "Mardi Gras stuff". I'm happy to take on any suggestions related to those two things, but I am looking to avoid tourist traps and get an authentic Louisiana experience for by boys. I am planning a Bachelor Party for maybe 12-15 guys in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Planning to be there 16th - 19th of Feb., and am looking for some suggestions on the best places/areas to stay to get good vibes of Mardi Gras, and also solid accommodations. The French Quarter on Mardi Gras Day is not the same as it is for the rest of the year. On Mardi Gras, police have to watch a huge crowd, and are only looking out for things relevant to public safety and theft, so they don't really care if anybody drops their pants on that one day.
