NEW ORLEANS — Blaine Kern Sr., the legendary artist and high energy entrepreneur who turned Mardi Gras float building into a multimillion-dollar business, playing a pivotal role in New Orleans Carnival for more than 65 years, died Thursday, according to his wife Holly.
