Mardi Gras 2025 in St. Tammany Parish Carnival season returns each year on January 6 with Twelfth Night celebrations, so beginning the season of revelry unique to southeast Louisiana. We have many ways to celebrate on the Northshore parades will roll (or stroll, or strut), kings and queens will be crowned at Carnival Krewe Balls and all Mardi Gras Day on the Northshore begins at 10 a.m. with the 24-float Carnival in Covington. More than 450 riders will celebrate with the theme, "This and Dat." Float titles include Red Beans and Rice with Abita Roasting, Crawfish and Beer with St John's Fools of Misrule, and Lady and the Tramp with Southern Hotel. The parade route will close to vehicular traffic at 9:00 AM. The City of Covington is committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable Mardi Gras Day celebration for all attendees. Parade Route: Due to the combined length of the Carnival in Covington Mardi Gras Day parades, they will not loop back around through Downtown Covington for a second run. COVINGTON, La. — The 2025 Carnival season kicked off on January 6, and Krewe of Olympia is set to roll through Covington on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. The Mystic Krewe of Olympia has a Krewe of Bogue Falaya Parade follows the Covington Lions Club parade at 10 AM. Featuring its first signature float the historic “St. Tammany Special” Train for the 2025 parade. This year’s parade promises to be one for the history books, merging our past with the present in a way that brings celebration to our community.
