There are parades a month and a half out from mardi gras day but the big ones start the wednesday before mardi gras so make sure to see any of those, Endymion Bacchus Orpheus, and i would include Iris, are the superkrewes so if none else make sure to see them The Philadelphia New Year's Day mummers parade is 200 years older than Mardi gras and two of the foundeing members of Mardi gras were Philadelphia mummers. The Uber driver who picked me up when I arrived told me that because it’s Mardi Gras season, it would take 4 hours to get from the Sheraton in the French Quarter area to the airport.
