The Algiers Mardi Gras Parade and Festival will be back on Saturday, February 1 at New Orleans Federal City in Algiers. The first recorded Mardi Gras celebration took place in 1703 when the tiny settlement of Fort Louis de la Mobile, founded by Jean-Baptiste le Moyne de Bienville, hosted a grand ball, followed by a Mardi Gras Ball and masquerade party for the local people.
