Some floats are elaborate and beautiful, while others are funny and satirical. Many krewes have a theme to their parade each year, and so floats are created to reflect those themes. Endymion (March 1, 2025): Endymion is the largest and most extravagant parade of Mardi Gras, featuring enormous illuminated floats, celebrity riders, and an electric atmosphere. The parade culminates in the Endymion Extravaganza, a massive after-party with live music and thousands of attendees. Named for Roman legion leaders, the 350-member co-ed parade typically rolls with 20-plus floats. Last year, for the first time, Centurions moved from Friday into the Lundi Gras slot in the Jefferson Parish Carnival schedule.
