The Mystic Krewe of Aquarius annual “Fat Tuesday “ Mardi Gras Parade will be March 4, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. beginning at 28th and Market street downtown and making its way through Postoffice street and Strand historic district. 10:00 p.m. Mardi Gras! Galveston Parade Revelers will enjoy this festive night parade, as it circles the Entertainment District wrapping up the first day of celebrations for Mardi Gras! Galveston, 2025. A group of 9 Festive Floats will be throwing beads and trinkets, plus more marching bands & dancers bringing the hype. Mardi Gras! Galveston is delighted to announce the distinguished recipients of the prestigious George P. Mitchell Mardi Gras Award: Mike Doherty and Kenneth Shelton. These two lifelong residents of Galveston Island will be honored at an awards ceremony on Friday, February 21, 5:30 PM, as part of the kick-off to Mardi Gras festivities. The island’s 114th Mardi Gras celebration, to be held February 21 thru March 4, 2025 is expected to draw more than 350,000 attendees for live concerts, parades, balcony parties, elegant balls and much more. Downtown’s Family Gras on the final Sunday of Mardi Gras features even more kid-friendly events, including pet parades and a special children’s parade hosted by local firefighters. Saturday, February 22, 2025; 12 PM – Mystic Krewe of Aquarius Parade The Mardi Gras Galveston Parade starts late at night. Hundreds of painted umbrellas are carried by dancers in the Funky Uptown Umbrella Brigade procession. The Hokey Pokey is performed by the umbrella welders as they pause beneath the Mardi Gras Arch.
