Many people showed up to celebrate Mardi Gras in the streets of downtown Huntsville with live music, costumes, and bead throwing. The event kicked off early Saturday morning with a 5K run and wrapped up with a special pet parade. Dash for the Beads is an annual chip-timed 5k run, 1-mile walk and family festival that coincides with Mardi Gras. All net proceeds support various Oak Cliff organizations that promote physical fitness, healthy eating and arts programs.
