Alton Towers Resort is gearing up for the ultimate escape this May half term as the Mardi Gras inspired takeover returns from 20 th May. The carnival style celebration is set to dazzle with high energy entertainment, showstopping costumes and a fantabulous parade for the ultimate street party vibe. Located in front of the iconic Towers, our food stalls have got delicious food from around the world including Mardi Gras King Cake, classic jambalaya and refreshing slushie cocktails. Mardi Gras Spring Event | Alton Towers Resort Alton Towers Resort is gearing up for the ultimate escape this May half term as the Mardi Gras inspired takeover returns from 20 th May. The carnival style celebration is set to dazzle with high energy entertainment, showstopping costumes and a fantabulous parade for the ultimate street party vibe. The pontoon was short-lived and did not return in 2023, with the X Sector Krewe also not returning. The rest of the festival’s floats and krewes were relocated to the area around Food Street, offering a much more condensed event, between Towers Street and the Towers. In 2024, Alton Towers took it from the streets, when Mardi Gras was cancelled. When is Alton Towers Mardi Gras Mardi Gras opens at Alton Towers on Saturday, May 20 and runs until Sunday, June 18. The theme park is open from 10am to 4pm during the week, and until 5pm on weekends. This May and June join us in getting the summer vibes going as Mardi Gras returns to Alton Towers for 2023!
