The annual Mardi Gras Festival kicked off at Cajun Field tonight, bringing five days of celebration with a lineup of food, music, and entertainment. 1 weather alerts 1 closings/delays. The festivities will kick off on Friday, February 28 with the Krewe Allons Kick-Off Parade, which will roll at 6:30 pm. Le Festival de Mardi Gras a Lafayette is the ending point for that parade and all the other weekend Lafayette parades. All parades, except the Children’s Parade, begin at Pontiac Point (Jefferson St. at Surrey St.) and end at Cajun Field. The Children’s Parade begins at Lafayette St. & West Vermilion St. and ends at Cajun Field. Resident & Business Information.
