Mardi Gras, also known as “Fat Tuesday“, is a popular celebration in many countries around the world, including Belgium. The holiday is typically celebrated with a large feast, as well as social gatherings and parties. Mardi Gras is a time to indulge in rich foods and drinks before the start of the Lenten season. In some countries, such as France, Germany, and Spain, Mardi Gras is celebrated with large public parties and parades. In others, such as Italy and Portugal, Mardi Gras is a more low-key affair, with private parties and smaller celebrations.
