On Sunday, March 2, 2025, the Krewe of Barkus celebrates its 23rd annual Mardi Gras Dog Parade with a theme that's truly "Out of This World - From Astronauts to Aliens, Barkus Shoots for the Stars!" Tuesday, March 4 – Papa Red Dog Mardi Gras Parade – Main Street, Loreauville. 2-4 p.m.-CANCELLED JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH Saturday, Feb. 15 – Welsh Mardi Gras Run, Parade, and Street Dance The fun starts at 8:00am with the Dog Costume Contest followed by the Parade at 11:00am. The parade starts on Michigan Ave and Woodland Blvd and runs south to Howry Ave. The fun continues at our Festival on Georgia Ave immediately following the parade. There will be food, music and vendors as the Mardi Gras celebration continues! The fun starts at 8:00am with the Dog Costume Contest followed by the Parade at 11:00am. The Parade starts at 2:30 p.m. at the corner of 6th and Main and will head north to 4th and Main. The Barkus Block Pawty will take place on Main Street from 3rd Street to Capitol Avenue.
