The free, community-wide festival features a mile-long parade down Wharf An epic Mardi Gras celebration requires at least three key elements: an elaborate parade, the best local entertainment, and ornate costumes. On March 1, grab your beads, Mardi Gras activity stations on Recreation pier will also open for kids. 3:30pm: Parade Begins Enjoy a spirited parade featuring stilt walkers, jugglers, the Mardi Gras king and queen, and fantastic floats from your favorite Wharf neighborhood partners including Capital Yacht Club, Maker's Union, Wharf Marina and more to be announced soon. The parade will begin marching along Wharf Street at 3:30 p.m., next to the water, and end at Parker Row, near Hell’s Kitchen.
