NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — For the first time in over 90 years, the Krewe of Alla has selected its first Black king and queen. The crowned royals of the 2025 parade are Gian Durand and James Carter A “cultural revolution on wheels.” That's how the Krewe of ALLA describes its Mardi Gras parade this year. The primary responsibilities of Mardi Gras Ball Royalty are to represent the Krewe with appropriate levels of Joie de Vivre.
