The Krewe of Romany is the longest reigning all-ladies Mardi Gras Krewe in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 1949, nine imaginative and creative ladies formed the Krewe for the purpose of presenting an annual Mardi Gras Ball, with the court being the debutante daughters of its members. We are an all ladies Mardi Gras krewe located in Baton Rouge, LA. We are a group of 100 women who love Mardi Gras. There are many events that occur throughout the year, but the main event is our annual Mardi Gras ball which focuses on a tableau that presents the royal court for that year. It is well known for its annual Mardi Gras parade which is the largest in Baton Rouge. The district of Spanish Town was commissioned in 1805. Spanish Town is the site of Baton Rouge's largest Mardi Gras parade which is celebrated annually on the Saturday before Mardi Gras. The first Spanish Town Mardi Gras parade took place in 1981. The Krewe of Southdowns is Baton Rouge's first, and most unique, family-friendly night Mardi Gras Parade. MARDI GRAS PARADE | BATON ROUGE, LA. Embark on a wild BATON ROUGE, La.
