Tours of the Mardi Gras Museum of Imperial Calcasieu are self-guided, allowing you to go at your own pace. We recommend you allow a minimum of one hour to tour. Open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm (last entry 4 pm). Closed for national holidays and on Mardi Gras day. Those who purchase a tour will be given a string of Mardi Gras beads. From the delectable seasonal king cake to the traditional Mardi Gras chicken run known as a Courir de Mardi Gras to how the fabulous over-the-top headdresses and gowns are imagined and created. We require two weeks advanced notice to schedule guided tours for groups of 30+ individuals. Docent-Guided tours can be requested during regular museum hours.
