I am planning a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras this coming year! Fat Tuesday falls on my birthday, so planning on having a fun time! I need itinerary advice. I lived in Louisiana for about 2 years. I’ve been to Mardi Gras parades in Natchitoches, and Hammond. And I’ve been to New Orleans twice (adding up to about 3 days). Looking for Advice on 2025 Mardi Gras Accommodations Planning for a Large Group Lodging I would like to stay on the parade route if possible, or at least do some sort of bar/VIP where I get to be on the parade route in the thick of it. So my 30th birthday is March 4th 2025 and I'm thinking of going to mardi gras in New Orleans. I've never been or know anyone that has but I think it would be a fun way to celebrate. I'm wonder how many days I should spend there, I was thinking maybe the 28th-6th or is that too long? Any help is appreciated Don’t plan on vacationing in New Orleans during Mardi Gras unless you are coming specifically for Mardi Gras. Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras Day are the best time to visit Bourbon -- great costumes, lots of people having fun, etc. It usually isn't shoulder to shoulder those days except maybe at night, and in certain 1/2 block areas.
