While an inside stateroom was around $1,500, the Ocean Suite was double the price at $3,000. Considering Mardi Gras is a nearly brand-new ship in the modern Excel-class, this seemed like a pretty good price for a suite. The Ocean Suite on Carnival Mardi Gras offers a luxurious and comfortable experience with stunning living room furnishings and ample space to unwind and relax. Staying in an Ocean Suite comes with the benefits of priority embarkation and disembarkation, as well as priority assignments in the main dining room, saving time and avoiding waits. These were super nice perks that elevated our cruise experience! The balcony is on a section that juts out wider than the row of balcony cabins in front of it. Seems it would be getting more wind than the regular balcony cabins along the side of the ship. I've only splurged for a balcony on our Alaska cruise but, I saw some great rates (for 3 pax) on Mardi Gras for Ocean Suites in off-peak cruises. Similarly, a standard interior on Mardi Gras only measures 158 square feet, while a balcony is 249 square feet, and a Carnival Excel Suite is a whopping 615 square feet.
