Ship Size. The Celebration is considered a large size ship. Coming in at 1,130 feet long and 137 feet wide, it's roughly the length of 3.1 football fields, as wide as 2.6 tractor-trailers and the same height as a 17-story building. The Celebration and the Mardi Gras are in the same class, which means they're sister ships. Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras are the newest and biggest ships in Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet. This is his first cruise and my fourth (all carnival) obviously my first time on either ship but I’m leaning towards Celebration however I’m still undecided even tho they are VERY similar I think the destinations that Celebration offers is better for this Emeril's on Celebration has more and nicer seating, menu is the same. I like the specialty bar menus (Latitudes and Golden Jubilee) on Celebration a tiny bit better than two of them on Mardi Gras (Brass Magnolia and Fortune Teller). I've done both. I prefer Mardi Gras because 1.) I like sailing from Port Canaveral, 2.) I hate sailing from Miami, and 3.) I like the decor and the bars better on Mardi Gras. Aside from the slight differences already mentioned above, they're the same ship. Staff was amazing ship was at capacity for spring break but didn’t feel crowded, Guys burgers was great. Mdr was good, all the bars were amazing! Red frog on lido could be crowded during lido events but not terrible and I’m very impatient. Looking at either Mardi Gras again next year or Celebration kind of torn .
